Our client located in Bensenville, IL is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their team! 

Responsibilities include supervising all daily general accounting activity. Prepare federal and state income tax quarterly reports, payments/deposits. Preparation of income tax return processing. Assign and/or audit work of general accounting clerks engaged in accounts payable, payroll, billing and general accounting activities. Personally handle the more critical and confidential aspects of the general accounting function like payroll. Manages and supervises assigned operations to achieve goals within available resources; plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates and evaluates assigned staff; reviews progress and directs changes as needed. Responsible for the development of policies, systems and procedures for the efficient use of departmental personnel, and the adequacy of internal accounting controls. Conduct special financial projects; prepare financial statements, and other management reports as directed. Exercise all normal supervisory functions within general accounting. Maintain official accounting records for the company. Communicates official plans, policies and procedures to staff and others dealing with financial issues of the company. Assures that assigned areas of responsibility are performed; performs cost control activities; monitors revenues and expenditures; prepares annual budget requests; assures effective and efficient use of funds, personnel, materials, facilities, and time. Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, expedites workflow and standardizes and improves procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Issues written and oral instructions; assigns duties and examines work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Supervises preparation and prepares, as required, periodic reports. Assists in the preparation of the annual report and other State and/or Federal reports. Supervises and makes journal entries to balance and close the general ledger, asset, liability, revenue, expense and shareholders’ equity accounts; reconciles general ledger and subsidiary records. Responsible for preparation of monthly financial statements package and internal financial reports to department managers and analysis thereof as required. Prepares and processes union payroll on a weekly basis. Process manual checks and calculates performance bonuses, Christmas bonuses and other incentive compensation. Processes all insurance, union dues, uniforms and safety glasses and shoe allowances. Produces and distributes W-2’s for all employees of the company. Prepares year-end reports and responsible for all general accounting year-end audit items. Ensure the general ledger and financial statements are maintained and prepared in conformance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) applied on a basis consistent with other periods reported/presented. Assist with inventory valuation and counts. Assist with depreciation records. Help prepare cost estimates of new or special products establishing standard costs. Help report product costs and investigate reasons for variances. Help with valuing inventory at FIFO and LIFO in compliance with GAAP and current income tax law. Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field required. 2+ years supervisory experience Cost accounting experience and ERP system experience
